Jenaeth Markaj holds an MA in American Studies from the Universiteit van Amsterdam and BA’s in English Literature and French from Lake Forest College. She has 17 years of experience in the nonprofit industry with a concentration in fundraising since 2007. Jenaeth has devoted most of her career to serving organizations in education and human services, the Institute for the International Education of Students and One Hope United, respectively. During this time, she has led projects including relationship management with 5 child development and community centers in Bridgeport, Edgewater, Elgin, and Kenwood, large scale gift-in-kind drives, corporate volunteer initiatives, special events, Board recruitment, and management, and donor cultivation and solicitation.
Jenaeth is passionate about the arts and is inspired to find ways to unite the creative community with people, organizations, and projects trying to make the world a better place through nonprofit work. Within the art space, she has managed internationally acclaimed photographer, Satoki Nagata and organized public art events and campaigns including INSIDE OUT on Michigan Avenue in 2014 in support of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. She also serves on the advisory team of City Bricks, a civic art project consisting of public murals and a documentary film, that uses data to explore disparities in living conditions and opportunity among neighborhoods.
She is delighted to join the team at Keyconcept and find new ways to inspire people and drive positive change in our communities and our world.
